From an ecological point of view, lasting tightness of sewers is a serious problem which has been fairly neglected in the past.

Penetration of undesired, contaminating substances into the soil is largely caused by many decades of infiltration from leaky sewers.

Drinking water is a valuable resource, and its reproduction is very costly.

That is why we all need tight sewers.
